Job summary

Hickory Ridge Elementary in Harrisburg, NC is seeking an experienced Assistant Principal to support the Principal, staff and students in delivering a high-quality educational program aligned with district policies and state guidelines.

The successful candidate will lead daily operations, supervise teachers and support staff, manage discipline and safety, and coordinate transportation and special education activities while fostering a collaborative school culture and strong family engagement.

Qualifications

Master's degree in education administration or related field with significant teaching experience.
NC License in Principal Area.
Experience in educational leadership within a K-12 setting.

Responsibilities

Enforces discipline, health, safety and general welfare standards for students and staff within building.
Observes classrooms, conducts walk-throughs and pre-/post-conference observations.
Facilitates and attends various meetings.
Handles attendance and truancy issues by meeting with students and parents.
Oversees evening supervision at events and supervises staff schedules and evaluations.
Manages transportation program for the school.
Supervises special education within building including curriculum development and paraprofessional supervision.
