Job summary

Colonial School District is seeking a full-time Custodian for the Wilbur building, Monday through Friday, 11am–7pm. Reports to the Building Chief. Starts ASAP with a 12-month work year and a closing date of September 29, 2026.

The role involves cleaning, minor repairs, and general custodial duties in classrooms, cafeterias, and common areas. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying temperatures; High School Diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Flexible for shift/schedule changes; notice given 72 hours in advance when possible.
• Able to read, write, and communicate professionally with staff and students.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in extreme temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial duties to keep buildings clean, safe, and presentable.
• Clean floors, fixtures, walls, and surfaces in classrooms, offices, cafeterias, and common areas.
• Maintain minor repairs and assist in building facilities maintenance.
• Assist in cafeteria areas and snow removal as needed.
• Attend work regularly and follow instructions while asking questions when needed.
