Soliant Education in Fredericksburg, VA is seeking a School Counselor to support students academically, socially, and emotionally within a school district. The role collaborates with teachers, administrators, families, and other school professionals to promote a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities include direct counseling, crisis intervention, academic and career guidance, and participating in student support teams. A master's in school counseling and Virginia licensure are required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in School Counseling or a related field.
• Virginia School Counselor license/certification or eligibility.
• Previous school-based counseling experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students, families, and school personnel.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small-group counseling to students.
• Support students with academic, behavioral, social, and emotional needs.
• Assist students with goal setting, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.
• Participate in student support meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Communicate with teachers, administrators, parents, and guardians.
• Provide crisis intervention and appropriate student referrals when needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow district and state guidelines.
• Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
