The Salvation Army Southern California Division is seeking a Research Intern for the Center for Applied Research and Innovation (CARI) to gain hands-on experience in homelessness research, data analysis, and program design.

This paid seasonal internship supports literature reviews, data analysis, focus groups, and collaboration with researchers and community partners to inform policy and practice.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in sociology, public health, communications, research, advocacy and public policy, social work, psychology, or a related field.
• Strong research and writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote or hybrid environment.

Responsabilités

• Conduct literature reviews on homelessness, mental health, and related social work challenges.
• Conduct focus groups and in-person interviews with staff, volunteers, homeless participants, vendors and other stakeholders.
• Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends and insights.
• Assist in preparing research reports, presentations, and policy briefs.
• Support pilot projects or case studies and contribute ideas for interventions.
