Job summary

Johnson County Park and Recreation District (JCPRD) is hiring to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate programs, camps, and events for all ages within a financially self-supporting framework.

The role includes recruiting and training instructors, coordinating with internal departments and partners, overseeing budgets and revenues, leading marketing efforts, and collaborating with the City of Roeland Park. A valid driver's license and lifting up to 25 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation or related field.
• Minimum four years of relevant experience.
• Excellent communication skills with patrons.
• Organized, creative, and able to lead program success.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate programs, camps and events for all ages within a financially self-supporting framework.
• Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate program instructors.
• Coordinate with internal departments and community partners to create and execute contractual programs.
• Assist in completion of budgets, including annual budget and forecasting for programming areas.
• Lead marketing efforts to promote programs through flyers, social media, and publications.
• Collaborate with City of Roeland Park on scheduling, room setups, and programming needs.
• Assist with sponsorships and donations for programming needs.
• Maintain expertise in recreation program trends by attending conferences and serving on committees.
