The Alaska Psychiatric Institute (API) is recruiting for a Psychiatric Nurse 2/Medical Nurse Case Manager to provide direct clinical nursing care, assess patients, and coordinate care with providers. The nurse administers medications, conducts point-of-care testing, and supports continuity and chronic disease management with families and communities.

The role emphasizes patient safety, education, and ongoing professional development, with potential for merit increases and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Eligibility for licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Alaska; OR successful completion of a formal training plan as a Psychiatric Nurse 1 with the State of Alaska; OR one year of entry level RN experience.
• Combinations of prior training and experience in other nursing specializations will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical nursing care and complete patient assessments.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic point-of-care testing; triage medical needs.
• Coordinate care with providers, specialists, and community resources to support continuity and chronic disease management.
