Job summary

State of Oregon’s Department of Human Services seeks an Adult Protective Service Specialist to safeguard older adults and adults with disabilities. You will conduct intakes, investigations, and protective interventions, coordinating with partners to ensure safety and well-being.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human, social, behavioral or criminal sciences plus two years of relevant experience; OR an Associate's degree with four years of experience.
• Three years professional level experience may substitute for the Bachelor's, 18 months for an Associate.
• Experience building collaborative relationships with community partners, agency staff and the public.

Responsibilities

• Provide protective services to older adults and adults with physical disabilities under APS/ Aging and People with Disabilities jurisdiction.
• Conduct intakes, investigations, and risk management; develop intervention plans and services.
• Perform home visits to assess safety, coordinate with law enforcement when needed, and testify in court when required.
