Job summary

The San Diego Center for Children seeks a Program Therapist to deliver direct therapeutic services to children and their parents/caregivers, with sessions at school, home, or our office based on preference. You will collaborate with the attending psychiatrist for medication management and work with schools through IEPs to support client outcomes.

You will attend staff meetings, participate in supervision, and ensure clinical documentation meets agency standards.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Counseling or equivalent education.
• Registered Associate or Intern BBS number.
• Experience working with children, teenagers, and families.
• Available for early evening appointments, at least 2x per week.
• Valid California Driver’s License.
• Bilingual Spanish or other languages represented in the community.
• CPR and/or First Aid certification; familiarity with evidence-based models (PCIT, EMDR, MI) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct therapeutic services to children and their parents/caregivers.
• Sessions may occur at school, home, or the office per client/family preference.
• Collaborate with the attending psychiatrist for medication management.
• Work with schools via IEPs and regular contact with teachers and counselors.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in supervision; maintain clinical documentation.
• Meet monthly productivity targets and comply with program requirements.
