Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a licensed or eligible Physical Therapy Assistant to provide routine treatment under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. You will document patient progress and communicate changes to the supervising therapist, while maintaining accurate patient records in compliance with standards.

Required is an Associate’s degree from an accredited PTA program, and licensure in the practicing state or eligibility by exam or reciprocity, plus BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Must have computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval of patient information.

Responsibilities

• Performs physical therapy treatments as prescribed by the physician under supervision of a licensed PT.
• Documents changes in patient status and reassessments.
• Maintains patient records per standards and policies.
• Participates in staff and committee projects.
• Achieves productivity levels set by administration.
• May educate and train others within the discipline.
• Adapt communication and procedures to the patient population.
