COMHAR, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Peer Recovery Coach to join our Philadelphia-based team.

This non-clinical, peer-focused role uses lived experience to support individuals at various stages of recovery, promote self-directed growth, and advocate for access to services within a collaborative care team. The position is part-time in the Philadelphia area, with a schedule of Monday through Friday 9:00 AM–2:00 PM and a pay rate of $17.50 per hour.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED with 2-year experience in human services (1 year of mental health direct care service).
• CPS Certificate with 1 additional year paid or volunteer work in mental health direct service.
• Lived experience in recovery from substance use and/or mental health challenges
• Experience working in mental health, substance use, or community-based programs
• Knowledge of recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care
• Prior experience in peer support, recovery services, or behavioral health
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred, not required

Responsabilidades

• Engage individuals who may be at risk and provide stage-appropriate recovery education and supports, e.g., motivational interviewing
• Assist in the orientation process, facilitate groups and co-facilitate meetings for persons new to services
• Educate and engage individuals in Wellness Recovery Action Plan process
• Assist in development and implementation of educational and support groups
• Introduce and link individuals to community resources and peer supports outside of the facility to promote community integration
• Support the individual in connecting with family, friends, and others to improve relationships
• Provide education and advocacy to reduce stigma and promote mental health awareness
• Provide training and orientation of new employees to foster a recovery-oriented peer culture
• Participate in meetings and advisory boards designated by COMHAR
