Job summary

SSM Health DePaul Hospital - St. Louis is seeking a Transporter to support patient transportation across the facility. The role involves moving patients, specimens, and equipment, with duties spanning patient assistance, equipment delivery, and liaison with staff to ensure smooth operations.

The position operates on an Evening Shift, Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week, with occasional holidays. BLS HCP certification is required, and no weekend shifts or on-call duties are noted.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or 10 years of work experience.
• No prior experience required.
• BLS HCP certification required (AHA)

Responsibilities

• Transport patients via wheelchair, stretcher or bed to designated sites.
• Assist patients with entering/exiting vehicles and transfers from wheelchairs or stretchers.
• Deliver equipment and specimens to requesting staff; assist with removal of deceased bodies as needed.
• Greet and provide information/directions to patients and visitors.
• Maintain alertness and safety in all tasks.
• Clean and disinfect hospital equipment per guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
