Qualifications

• RN license current and valid in the practicing state.
• BSN or equivalent nursing degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of two years clinical nursing experience, behavioral health preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong understanding of substance use disorders and treatment principles.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments of patients with substance use disorders to determine physical and psychological health status.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans tailored to the unique needs of each patient.
• Administer medications and monitor patients for adverse reactions or withdrawal symptoms, ensuring adherence to prescribed treatment protocols.
• Provide education and counseling to patients and their families about substance use disorders, treatment options, and relapse prevention strategies.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care, participate in case conferences, and contribute to treatment planning.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
• Support crisis intervention efforts and provide emotional support to patients during periods of acute distress.
• Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with best practices in addiction nursing and substance use disorder treatment.
