Job summary

Gossler Park Elementary in the Manchester School District, Manchester, NH, is hiring Para-Educators to support students with disabilities across grade levels under the AFSCME contract. Positions run 6–8 hours per day, 30–40 hours per week, starting immediately.

Compensation is $18.04–$18.57 per hour with full benefits. Requires high school diploma for Para-Educator I or 48 credits/Associate degree for Para-Educator II, plus experience and ability to teach core subjects.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma (Para-Educator I).
• Para-Educator II: 48 credits/Associates degree or higher or Paraeducator II certification from NH DOE.
• Experience with children and adolescents in an educational setting.
• Ability to instruct students in mathematics, reading, science, social studies, art, and related subjects.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers and specialists with instructional and clerical duties for students with disabilities.
• Perform tasks with limited supervision and prepare teaching materials and aids.
• Support students individually or in groups with lesson assignments.
• Assist students to and from transportation, during recess, lunch and other school periods.
