Job summary

Carle Health seeks an Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat patients of all ages. The role serves as a clinical resource and role model for staff and students within a multi-hospital system.

Responsibilities include planning and executing patient-centered care plans, documentation, and supervision of rehab staff, while collaborating with the care team to optimize functional outcomes and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days.
• Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) per IDFPR.
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates ability to perform patient transfers with assistance as needed.
• Maintains safe body mechanics to reduce risk of injury to self, staff and patients.
• Designs an appropriate plan of care with goals, treatment, outcomes, and discharge plan.
• Adjusts the care based on patient response and evidence.
• Educates patients, family, caregivers, students, and other health care providers.
• Evaluates clinical findings to determine PT diagnoses and outcomes of care.
• Performs examination using reliable, valid methods relevant to the chief complaint.
• Documents evaluations and plans of care per department policy.
• Provides supervision to COTA and rehabilitation technicians.
• Communicates patient performance and discharge needs with the medical team.
