Job summary

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days per AHA requirements.
• Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) per IDFPR licensing standards.
• Bachelor's degree required for the role.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates ability to transfer patients with assistance as needed.
• Maintains safe body mechanics to protect patients and staff.
• Designs a plan of care with goals, treatment, outcomes, and discharge plans.
• Adjusts care based on patient response and evidence.
• Educates patients and families using effective teaching methods.
• Evaluates findings to determine diagnoses and outcomes.
• Performs examinations using reliable methods and patient history.
• Screens patients to determine need for further therapy services.
• Uses support personnel per regulatory guidelines and delegates appropriately.
• Monitors and provides feedback on care delivered by support staff.
• Documents evaluations and plans of care in accordance with policy.
• Completes annual education for compliance with program requirements.
• Implements functional activity-based intervention plans.
• Modifies approach based on patient behavior and performance.
• Uses standardized outcome measures to reflect functional status.
• Communicates clearly with medical team about status, discharge and equipment needs.
