Job summary

Norman Regional is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapy Assistant to support patient care in our rehabilitation services. The role involves performing ongoing patient assessments, implementing therapy plans, and documenting services.

You will educate patients and families, supervise OTAs and students, and participate in planning care delivery. This position includes duties as a Clinical Instructor for students from accredited OTA programs and requires BLS certification and Oklahoma licensure

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AOTA approved occupational therapy assistant education program.
• Certification as Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Experience: preferred but not required.
• Licensure/Certification required by Oklahoma State Board.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition and establishes a plan of care.
• Provides therapeutic interventions appropriate to the age and disability of the patient.
• Documents delivery of Occupational Therapy services.
• Educates patients, family, caregivers, significant others, and staff members.
• Directs and supervises activities of Occupational Therapy Assistants, students, and support personnel.
• Promotes physical rehabilitation services through community/system based education activities, marketing opportunities, and support groups.
• Accepts the role of a Clinical Instructor to supervise/educate students from accredited occupational therapy and occupational therapy assistant programs.
• Participates in planning for the provision of patient care services.
• Provides staff in-service upon returning from continuing education or professional conferences.
