Job summary

Merced Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is seeking an Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR) to evaluate, plan, direct, and administer therapy modalities for residents. The role emphasizes compassionate patient care, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and adherence to physician orders to restore function and independence.

The OTR will lead the therapy department, supervise assistants and students, and coordinate care with physicians and staff while maintaining necessary documentation

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in occupational therapy from an accredited program.
• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR).
• Experience in a skilled nursing facility or similar healthcare setting preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise the Occupational Therapy Department staff and students.
• Assess, plan, implement and reevaluate therapy services per physician orders.
• Coordinate patient care with physicians, staff and administration.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure safety and policy compliance.
• Collaborate across departments to support performance improvement.
