Job summary

Naval Health Clinic Charleston is seeking a Physician (Occupational Medicine) to provide comprehensive occupational medical services at its Charleston, South Carolina location. Responsibilities include performing a range of occupational exams, coordinating with care resources, and advising on work restrictions and accommodations.

Qualified candidates must have an MD/DO, an active U.S. medical license, and completed residency in a relevant field; U.S.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from a U.S. or Canada-accredited program.
• Active, full medical license in a U.S. state or territory.
• Completion of residency in Preventive Medicine, Aerospace Medicine, or Occupational Medicine (or equivalent).
• Citizenship requirement: U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Perform occupational physical examinations (pre-placement, surveillance, qualification, disability retirement, fitness for duty).
• Coordinate with facility and community resources for work-related care.
• Notify management of exam results and recommend restrictions or accommodations.
• Interpret ancillary tests for occupational disease or health conditions.
• Treat and manage on-the-job illnesses/injuries and provide referrals as needed.
• Conduct periodic worksite visits and oversee medical surveillance programs.

Education

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree

Current, active unrestricted medical license in the United States

Residency in Preventive Medicine / Aerospace Medicine / Occupational Medicine

U.S. citizenship or eligibility to work in the U.S.
