Job summary

Chattanooga Preparatory School is seeking a middle school science teacher to advance student achievement, growth, and mastery of state standards. You will deliver engaging instruction aligned with Prep curricula and provide weekly communication with families.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree and Tennessee teaching license with the appropriate endorsement. Urban K-12 classroom experience is preferred; strong organization, communication, and relationship-building skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year educational institution required.
• Tennessee teaching license with proper endorsement code required for the subject and grade level (or willingness to pursue).
• Experience in an urban K-12 classroom setting strongly preferred.
• Aligned or relevant coursework indicating experience or exposure to Science content.

Responsibilities

• Implement state standards and Prep curricula to meet academic expectations.
• Deliver content and grade-level curriculum; provide feedback-informed lesson plans.
• Communicate students’ progress with students and families on a weekly basis.
• Establish behavior management aligned with campus initiatives to foster classroom community.
• Provide targeted tutoring sessions to support learning needs.
