E2 Consulting Engineers, LP, a California-based engineering firm since 1988, seeks a Mid-Level Transmission Line Engineer to design overhead lines from 69 kV to 500 kV. You will perform detailed design, develop structure spots and profiles, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to deliver compliant, safe, and cost-effective projects.

The role requires a Civil/Structural/Electrical background, 3–7 years in transmission line design, and proficiency in PLS-CADD (PLS-POLE/PLS-TOWER

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Electrical Engineering.
• 3–7 years of experience in transmission line design.
• Proficiency in PLS-CADD required; experience with PLS-POLE and/or PLS-TOWER preferred.
• Working knowledge of NESC and utility standards.
• EIT certification required; PE license preferred or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed design of overhead transmission lines, including structure spotting, profile drawings, conductor and hardware selection.
• Execute and review line design using industry-standard tools (e.g., PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, PLS-TOWER).
• Perform basic to intermediate calculations for sag-tension analysis and clearance compliance (NESC, GO 95).
• Coordinate with structural engineers on pole/tower loading and design inputs.
• Prepare engineering packages, drawings, and material lists.
• Interface with clients, survey teams, environmental teams, and other stakeholders.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
• Ensure adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements.
