Job summary

PRIME AE Group, Inc. seeks a Mechanical Engineer II to join its Jacksonville office with opportunities across Columbus, Akron, Baltimore, Pensacola.

You will support design and delivery of mechanical and plumbing systems, collaborating with architects, engineers, and field teams to ensure quality from concept through construction. Ideal candidates bring 7+ years of design experience, a PE license preferred, and strong skills in HVAC, hydronic, controls, and plumbing systems, plus familiarity

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 7+ years of experience in mechanical and plumbing system design.
• PE license preferred.
• Experience designing HVAC, hydronic, controls, and plumbing systems.
• Knowledge of medical gas and fire suppression systems is a plus.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM 360 and ACC.
• Experience with load calculation software such as Trane Trace.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design of mechanical and plumbing systems for diverse building types.
• Develop mechanical system layouts and construction documentation from concept through final design.
• Coordinate with field staff, architects, contractors, and engineers to ensure design intent.
• Perform engineering calculations, system sizing, and technical analysis.
• Apply problem-solving techniques to develop efficient design solutions.
• Prepare construction drawings, technical reports, and project documentation.
• Support multidisciplinary coordination with electrical, structural, civil, and architectural teams.
• Provide guidance and technical support to junior staff.
