Job summary

The Portland State University Career Center seeks a collaborative, student-centered Manager of Student Programs & Retention to strengthen programs that support student engagement, success, and progression toward graduation. The role leads a portfolio including SPARK and mentoring initiatives, coordinating tutoring and student services across Maseeh College.

Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Inclusive Innovation, you will supervise three staff, develop sustainable program models, and use data

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 3–4 years in higher education or related field.
• Experience supervising a team of 1.0 FTE employees.
• Experience planning events and delivering student success programs.
• Experience collecting and analyzing data for decisions.
• Experience developing budgets and program reporting.
• Proven ability to communicate with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee college-wide student programs and services to promote engagement and graduation.
• Lead programs such as SPARK and Undergraduate Research mentoring; coordinate tutoring.
• Supervise three staff; ensure programs are sustainable and accessible.
• Advise college leadership on retention strategies and program effectiveness.
• Collaborate with academic departments to advance shared goals.
