Job summary

KIPP St. Louis is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Teacher to join our K-12 program as a full-time, temporary regional employee. Assignments typically last 6–12 weeks and may be extended based on district needs.

The role requires delivering standards-aligned instruction, managing classrooms, monitoring progress, and collaborating with the Principal, Assistant Principal, and instructional teams. Compensation is $175 per day and requires Missouri Substitute Certification.

Qualifications

• 60 college credits and Missouri Substitute Certification.
• A passion for teaching in the city of St. Louis.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree and Missouri Substitute Certification.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver instruction where all students engage in grade-level standards, texts, and rigorous tasks daily.
• Internalize curriculum to ensure alignment to standards, pacing, and high-quality outcomes.
• Instruction consistently ensures students engage in grade-level standards with rigorous tasks and outcomes.
• Design lessons where students do most thinking, talking, reading, writing, and problem solving.
• Foster structured academic discourse using academic language and cognitive work.
