A Bachelor's degree and Pennsylvania teaching certificate are required. Applicants should demonstrate content knowledge, knowledge of PA Academic Standards, and skills in instructional planning, assessment, and communication with families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Pennsylvania Certificate in related field as required.
• Alternatives to the above qualifications may be acceptable per the Board.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate adequate knowledge of content and pedagogy.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Pennsylvania's Academic Standards.
• Demonstrate knowledge of students and how to guide instruction.
• Set instructional goals aligned with content standards and high expectations.
• Plan with appropriate resources, materials, and technology.
• Design instruction with a sequence and adaptations for individual students.
• Reflect on teaching to improve instruction.
• Assess student learning with evaluations aligned to goals.
• Maintain clear expectations for student achievement and equitable learning opportunities.
• Foster effective teacher-student and student-student interactions.
• Establish routines and procedures to minimize instructional time lost.
• Maintain conduct standards and strong classroom management.
• Organize space and resources for accessible learning.
• Communicate procedures and content clearly.
• Use questioning and discussion to engage many students.
• Pace instruction appropriately and provide timely feedback.
• Use informal/formal assessments to monitor goals.
• Be flexible and responsive to student needs.
• Follow school/district attendance and record-keeping procedures.
• Adhere to Professional Code of Conduct.
