Cleveland Sch​​ools seeks a Secondary School Teacher (9-12) for a long-term substitute position in Tennessee. The role runs 7/29/26–10/21/26 with daily pay starting at $100 for the first 20 days, then higher based on degree level and experience.

No benefits are provided for this temporary placement. The incumbent will teach one or more subjects, report to the Building Level Principal, and support student growth across intellectual, emotional, and psychological domains.

Qualifications

• Valid Tennessee teaching license with appropriate endorsement.
• Strong written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Meets health and physical requirements.
• FLSA exempt

Responsibilities

• Instructs students in subject matter, using various teaching methods, and uses technology and other materials to enhance presentation.
• Prepares teaching outline for course of study in conjunction with current state standards, and appropriate feedback for homework assignments.
• Administers tests to evaluate progress, records results, and issues reports to inform parents of students’ progress.
• Keeps accurate attendance records.
• Maintains discipline in classroom and during extended learning opportunities.
• Participates in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops.
• Encourages students to maintain standards of classroom behavior.
• Prepares for class and shows evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor.
• Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day.
• Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, board policies and administrative regulations.
• Develops and maintains a classroom conducive to learning.
• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
• Represents the school and the community in a positive manner.
• Performs other work-related duties as assigned by administration.
