Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required; Master's degree preferred.
• Massachusetts Certification for Moderate or Severe Special Needs required.
• Experience with developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders preferred.
• Safety Care Training preferred; if not trained, candidate will be trained by WPS.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of subject area and provide direct instruction in academic subjects, daily living skills, cognitive processing and appropriate social skill development.
• Guide the learning process toward district and school curriculum goals and differentiate instruction to meet individual IEP goals.
• Organize instruction around core learning objectives and communicate goals to students, colleagues, and parents when necessary.
• Develop MCAS Alt Portfolios and plan instruction based on explicit goals.
• Collaborate with BCBA, Special Education and Regular Education staff; implement Behavioral Intervention Plans.
• Develop and manage student schedules; participate in IEP and 504 meetings; maintain an engaging classroom environment.
