State of Oregon's Legislative Assembly in Salem seeks a Legislative Assistant to support Senator Jama during the 2026 Interim and 2027 Legislative Session. The role offers a collaborative, fast-paced environment with opportunities to learn the legislative process and strengthen policy writing and research skills.

You will manage the Senator's inbox, draft memos and talking points, staff town halls, handle social media and newsletters, and respond to constituent inquiries.

Qualifikationen

• A Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of related experience.
• Strong written and oral communication with high attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel within Oregon and work non-traditional hours.

Aufgaben

• Research, analyze and support Senator Jama’s legislation for the Long Session.
• Manage the Senator’s inbox and phone system.
• Draft one-pagers, talking points and memos on policy issues and legislation.
• Staff Senator Jama at town halls and different community events.
• Manage Senator Jama’s social media account and newsletter.
• Respond to constituent emails.
