Job summary

Qualifications

• One year recent experience (within the last 3 years) as a registered nurse in L&D or completion of a KP training program.
• High School Diploma/GED.
• Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program and completion of the BRN hours or 2000 hours RN experience; OR graduate of an accredited RN program with 2000 hours experience in clinical area.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited entry level MSN program and has completed pre-licensure requirements to practice nursing.

Responsibilities

• Performs assessment/data collection in an on-going systematic manner focusing on physiologic, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual and cognitive status; includes nutrition, pain, patient/family education and advocacy.
• Formulates a goal-directed plan of care and prioritizes based on patient needs and available resources.
• Implements care in a thorough, skillful, and continuous manner.
• Establishes priorities for patient care based on essential needs and available unit resources.
• Identifies patient/family learning needs and acts to meet them.
• Demonstrates safety principles and follows established protocols in emergencies.
