Job summary

Owasso Public Schools seeks a Junior High Assistant Coach to support Varsity and Junior High head coaches within the Athletics department. You will work with student-athletes to develop skills and foster sportsmanship while coordinating with coaches on practices and games.

You will assist in planning, supervising, and documenting activities, ensuring safety and adherence to OSSAA and district policies. This role requires strong communication and organizational abilities in a school setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Valid Oklahoma teaching certificate required.
• OSSAA certificates required by OSSAA.
• Commercial Drivers License (CDL) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
• Follows and maintains knowledge of OSSAA policies.
• Exhibits loyalty to Varsity and Junior High Head Coaches and OPS sports programs.
• Assists instruction and demonstrates skills and techniques for individual and team achievement.
• Assists in planning and setting up activities, practices, and games.
• Maintains necessary records and completes required paperwork on time.
• Ensures a safe environment and facilities for student-athletes.
• Enforces discipline policies and emphasizes sportsmanship and healthy lifestyles.
• Travels with student-athletes on team bus to games/events.
• Ensures medical and safety requirements are followed.
• Maintains confidential student records and inquiries.
• Represents the school and District professionally in interactions with stakeholders.
