Job summary

Ombudsman Educational Services in Omaha, NE is seeking an Instructional Aide to support students in grades 6–12. You will work with educators to implement IEPs, provide individualized instruction, and supervise classroom and community activities.

You will track progress, communicate effectively with teachers, and help students develop essential skills while maintaining confidentiality and a commitment to the school's mission and values.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required, basic skills tested.
• Associate degree or higher in education or related field preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain crisis management training certification.
• Educational aide credential preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to cultivate a supportive learning environment.
• Assist with implementing each student’s IEP and tailor instruction accordingly.
• Instruct and monitor students during lessons, ensuring instructional fidelity.
• Track progress against timelines and communicate with teachers about successes and needs.
• Manage student behavior with consistent disciplinary measures in line with school policies.
• Support students in developing academic, vocational, leisure, and social skills.
• Document student behaviors and performance; provide actionable recommendations to staff.
• Prepare behavioral reports and daily activity logs; maintain confidentiality.
