Corewell Health in Grand Rapids seeks an Advanced Practice Practitioner (NP or PA) to support the growing Pediatric Congenital Heart inpatient practice at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. The role spans newborns to age 25 across inpatient and outpatient pediatric cardiology, within a collaborative team of APPs.

The ideal candidate has critical care experience, strong clinical assessment skills, and the ability to guide learners and coordinate care in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required; NP candidates must show completion of an accredited NP program (post-2000) or higher.
• Three years of relevant clinical experience and demonstrated collaboration in a team-based setting.
• Michigan RN/NP license upon hire and credential-specific requirements.
• BLS and NRP certifications required within specified timeframes.
• PA candidates must be graduate of an accredited PA program with PA-C certification and Michigan license.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient care in pediatric cardiac ICU and cardiology floor with cardiology team.
• Manage critically ill patients in collaboration with cardiologist, intensivist, and cardiac surgeon.
• Participate in rounds and adjust care plans; triage calls and consultations.
• Supervise learners (students, residents, fellows) and coordinate with attending physicians.
• Provide prescriptions and relevant testing; coordinate admissions and discharges.
