Providence Swedish is seeking a dedicated Environmental Services Technician to maintain the hospital’s clean and safe environment. The role involves performing a wide range of cleaning procedures across all areas to support infection control and high appearance standards, with self-direction and task prioritization in a dynamic healthcare setting.

The position requires competency in floor maintenance for various floor coverings and safe handling of medical waste.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in environmental services in a healthcare or hotel setting.
• Experience as a project crew member from a professional office cleaning company will be considered.
• Applicable certification from a Vo-Tech school will also be considered for a portion of experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the physical environment of the hospital at high standards of cleanliness and infection control.
• Demonstrate proficiency in basic and complex cleaning procedures and protocols across all areas.
• Perform floor maintenance for tile, linoleum, carpet, and wood floors, with safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
• Handle medical waste safely, including hazardous, regulated, infectious, recyclable and innocuous waste, following infection control methods.
