Job summary

IDEXX Histology is seeking a Laboratory Assistant on-site in West Sacramento, CA. You will input sample information into the LIMS, stock benches, and assist with preparing and packing tissue samples for histology technicians.

You may operate VM systems and help maintain digital slide workflows for pathologists, while supporting administrative tasks as needed. The role offers full-time employment with excellent day-one benefits and a schedule that supports a fast-paced lab environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior histology lab experience is a plus but not required.
• Ability to follow SOPs and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Input sample information in the laboratory database (LIMS).
• Stock benches with necessary materials for technicians.
• Run equipment to prep samples for histology technicians.
• Pack samples for storage and delivery of casework to remote pathologists.
• Maintain and troubleshoot virtual microscopy (VM) systems for pathologists.
• Organize and archive pending and completed VM cases; track system errors.
• Assist with various administrative tasks as needed.
