Job summary

Waco ISD seeks a qualified high school math teacher to join our assigned campus. The role involves planning lessons, delivering instruction, assessing student progress, and supporting district curriculum goals.

The position emphasizes classroom management, collaboration with staff, and adherence to state standards and district policies. A Bachelor’s degree and Texas teaching certification are required; prior student teaching is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for the assigned subject and level.
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.
• At least one year of student teaching or approved internship.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the district curriculum and show evidence of preparation.
• Prepare lessons reflecting accommodations for different learning styles.
• Present material according to TEA guidelines and district policies.
• Plan and use instructional strategies and materials that fit student needs.
• Assess student learning and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Work with special education staff to modify curricula as needed for IEPs.
• Collaborate with staff to set goals and methods per district requirements.
• Supervise teacher aides and volunteers.
• Use technology to enhance teaching and learning.
• Maintain open communication with parents, students, principals and teachers.
• Manage classroom behavior and create a conducive learning environment.
• Attend faculty meetings and perform duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor’s degree from accredited university

Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned
