Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required and 4 or more years of experience as a Hearing Officer.
• Experience utilizing the Uniform Rules of Administrative Procedure.
• Experience conducting legal research and drafting legal documents.
• Valid Driver License.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hearings following statutory guidelines.
• Administer oaths, establish burden and standard of proof.
• Develop the record, rule on motions and admissibility of evidence.
• Research, review, analyze and maintain knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
• Monitor agency actions to determine correctness.
• Review hearing requests, facilitate settlements, issue orders for prehearing conferences.
• Schedule the hearing and ensure all legal requirements are met.
• Issue and rule on subpoena requests.
• Prepare written decisions with concise findings and conclusions.
• Travel as required.
