Job summary

Orange County Schools is seeking a dedicated Head Cheerleading Coach for the A.L. Stanback Middle School athletics program in Hillsborough, NC. The role involves leading the cheer program, enforcing policies, and ensuring safe, sport-specific instruction for students during the season.

The coach will collaborate with the Athletic Director, oversee practices and games, and promote sportsmanship while maintaining eligibility and safety standards for all participants.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of athletic policies and procedures.
• Understanding of state and conference athletic regulations.
• Experience guiding student-athletes in sportsmanship and safety.
• Strong communication and leadership for coaching staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Implement and enforce athletic program policies across staff and players.
• Coordinate practice and game schedules with the Athletic Director.
• Ensure student-athletes meet eligibility and conduct requirements.
• Provide guidance, manage equipment, and supervise assistant coaches.
• Communicate with parents and maintain safety protocols for all activities.

Education

Associate’s Degree in Physical Education or related area

Minimum of three (3) years of coaching experience at the middle or high school level
