Job summary

HDR, Inc. is hiring a GIS Technician to support spatial analyses and map creation using ArcGIS in our Detroit area office. The role includes data input, editing spatial and tabular data, and assisting field data collection with mobile GIS/GPS equipment.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Geography, Planning, Engineering, Natural Science or closely related field, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
• Practical experience with editing, database development, and map production in ArcGIS.
• Experienced with Microsoft 365 Apps.
• Requires attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work with a team.
• Good written and oral communication skills a plus.
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

• Conduct spatial analyses and prepare maps using ArcGIS
• Perform data input and editing of spatial and tabular data using ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online
• Support field data collection using mobile GIS/GPS equipment
• Follow documented technical procedures
• Perform other duties as needed
