Job summary

Presque Isle Electric & Gas Co-op (PIE&G) seeks a GIS Analyst to build and maintain spatial data for electric, natural gas, and broadband systems. You will create maps, perform spatial analysis, manage assets, and support field operations through web GIS tools and dashboards.

The role involves collaboration with engineering, operations, and technology teams, driving data quality, regulatory reporting, and emerging GeoAI applications.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience with GIS systems or equivalent education/experience
• Working knowledge of desktop and web GIS software such as Esri ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, NISC or similar
• Familiarity with spatial data concepts, basic database management, and map production
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Effective verbal and written communication; ability to collaborate across departments
• Valid driver's license

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update GIS data for electric, natural gas, and broadband systems
• Create maps and conduct spatial analysis to support planning, design, construction, and operations
• Maintain and validate GIS-based asset management and network models; resolve data integrity issues
• Support GIS system integrations with work management, outage management, asset tracking, and other systems
• Develop and maintain web GIS applications, maps, and dashboards for field crews, engineering, and operations
• Prepare accurate maps and datasets to support regulatory reporting and data requests
• Assist with drone and aerial imagery analysis including GeoAI and machine-learning tools
• Document GIS workflows, processes, and data standards
• Participate in occasional fieldwork to collect/verify GIS data
• Identify opportunities to improve GIS workflows and data quality
