Job summary

Forestdale Inc. in New York, NY, seeks a Certification Coach to guide foster parents through certification and recertification processes, ensuring documents meet OCFS and ACS standards. This role partners with prospective and current foster families to maintain compliant licenses and provide ongoing support.

The position requires completing home studies, coordinating documentation, and maintaining case records, with occasional evening/weekend hours and NYC area travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field from an accredited college.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and cultural sensitivity.
• Willing to complete NTDC TRIPP TOT training.
• Ability to travel within the metropolitan NYC region.
• Fluency in Spanish or French is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Completes home studies for kinship and non-kinship foster homes.
• Guides applicants through completion of required paperwork and background checks.
• Supports families through the certification process with regular check-ins.
• Completes annual reauthorizations for all certified foster homes.
• Conducts home visits to assess safety and licensing readiness.
• Facilitates quarterly foster parent trainings as needed.
• Maintains accurate case records per state, local, and agency policies.
• Ensures records are updated in connections and Binti.
• Flexibility to work nights/weekends based on program needs.
