Job summary

Vanderbilt University invites applications for the Food Systems and Agriculture Policy Analyst within the Vanderbilt Policy Accelerator (VPA) in the Law School. The analyst conducts research, writes policy briefs and white papers, and supports communications to advance priorities in food systems, agriculture policy, rural development, and governance challenges.

The role supports the Director of Food Systems and Agriculture Policy, collaborates with faculty and partners, and considers remote work

Qualifications

• Masters degree preferred in food policy, agriculture, environmental law, public policy or related field.
• Five years of experience in food systems regulation, agricultural policy, rural economic development, or related areas.
• Ability to demonstrate maturity, creativity, and initiative.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and manage complex tasks.

Responsibilities

• Produce research, white papers, policy briefs, and other policy communications such as op-eds.
• Evaluate challenges in food systems and agriculture policy in collaboration with leadership.
• Develop papers and policy proposals on agriculture, food systems regulation, and rural economic development.
• Support policy products and communications for public dissemination.
