Job summary

Qualifications

• Master's degree in hand by hire date, at least one degree in Agriculture or related field.
• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or related field with a cumulative 2.5 GPA or higher.
• Must complete a master's degree within 5 years of hire date to continue employment.
• Promotion to assistant professor rank will be based on performance and Dean's approval.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance to Extension education programs for adults and youth in 4-H, youth development, agriculture, family and consumer sciences, community/economic development.
• Collaborate with youth serving community organizations and agencies to advance 4-H Youth Development programs.
• Support annual County Fair efforts.
• Recruit, train, and support volunteer adult and youth leaders.
• Team with other Extension Agents, State Specialists, District Head, and Administrators in planning and implementing Extension programs.
• Maintain a favorable public image for the Extension and New Mexico State University.
• Administratively responsible for the County Program Director and through him/her to the District Head.
• Provide timely reports as required.
• Travel county-wide via personal vehicle to deliver educational programming.
• Promote CES programs to meet LEADS 2025 Equity, Inclusion and Diversity goals, expanding to non-traditional demographics.
• Foster collaborations and participate in research activities supporting CESFAS.
