Job summary

Town of Apex invites applications for a Special Events Marketing Intern. The role provides hands-on experience in event logistics, community outreach, volunteer management, and marketing.

You will assist with planning, coordination, and execution of Town-sponsored events at 53 Hunter Street, Apex, NC. Current enrollment in a bachelor’s program in Marketing, Communications, Event Planning, Parks and Recreation, or related field is required.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Willingness to work some evenings and weekends as required for events.
• Experience in event planning or volunteer coordination is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support logistics for Town-sponsored and community events, including site maps, vendor negotiations, and communications.
• Attend and assist on-site management of events, ensuring smooth execution.
• Collaborate with Communications to develop promotional materials and manage event postings.
• Help secure event spaces, supplies, and create event timelines and internal staff communications.
• Serve as a liaison between event organizers, Town staff, and volunteers to ensure clear communication.
