Job summary

The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality is seeking an Environmental Programs Specialist in Oklahoma City to perform technical and regulatory tasks within the Sustainable Materials Management section of the Land Protection Division.

The role focuses on the Land Reclamation Program and OCERA, with responsibilities including grant support, project development, and stakeholder outreach. In-office work Monday–Friday with field requirements and travel within the state.

Qualifications

• Level I: bachelor’s degree with at least 24 semester hours in a physical, natural, or biological science, chemistry, geology, hydrology, physical geography, epidemiology, environmental science, environmental health or civil, agricultural, environmental, geological or chemical engineering.
• Level II: Level I plus one year of professional experience or a master’s degree in a qualifying area.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Land Reclamation Program as the Land Reclamation Specialist.
• Manage the OCERA Program including tracking annual payments and reporting.
• Assist with the Solid Waste Management Grant Program and outreach to regulated businesses.
• Perform data management and participate in public outreach and meetings.
