Job summary

North Carolina Department of Adult Correction is seeking a School Educator II for Richmond Correctional Institution in Hoffman, NC. You will teach English/Language Arts to young adult inmates and oversee remediation and enrichment to help attain high school equivalency.

The role reports to the School Principal and requires delivering standards-aligned instruction within a medium custody facility while collaborating with staff to support student growth and transitions back into society.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from accredited college/university
• 24 hours of coursework relevant to licensure or content area exam
• Enrollment in an Educator Preparation Program (EPP)

Responsibilities

• Design lessons aligned with state standards for English/Language Arts in adult prison settings
• Provide direct group and individual instruction in English/Language Arts
• Maintain records including attendance, grades, and classroom assessments
