Responsibilities

• Develops and implements an instructional plan aligned with curricular goals and the students’ IEP
• Develops and updates IEPs using diagnostic information and progress monitoring
• Provides direct special education instruction to identified students
• Uses a variety of teaching methods and adapts materials to meet student needs
• Monitors behavior, progress on IEP/BIP, maintains discipline and records
• Communicates with parents regarding student progress via progress reports
• Acts as case coordinator and collaborates with caregivers and school staff
• Maintains student records per NC procedures
