Job summary

Innovative Network of Knowledge in Monroe, LA is seeking an Early Head Start assistant teacher to support infants and toddlers. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and completion of an Infant/Toddler CDA within 6 months, plus First Aid/CPR certification.

Experience in Head Start and bilingual Spanish preferred; you will collaborate with families, staff, and management to deliver developmentally appropriate activities and documentation.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED and must complete an Infant/Toddler CDA certification within 6 months of employment.
• First Aid and CPR certifications must be obtained and maintained.
• Prefer 2 years of related experience in the Early Head Start preschool classroom setting.
• Prefer bilingual (Spanish).

Responsibilities

• Attend all required training, including online training sessions, workshops, and staff meetings.
• Remain up to date on Head Start standards, regulations, and practices including IDEA & Part C/Early On.
• Work with education staff, parents, and Parent Committee to implement curriculum and meet individual goals.
• Maintain confidentiality with respect to children, families, and staff per FERPA & HIPAA policies.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities for infants and toddlers.
• Document and provide Part C Service Coordination for children with special needs.
• Collaborate with parents to identify learning opportunities and strengthen readiness for school via literacy and numeracy activities.
