Job summary

Community Options, Inc. in Metuchen, NJ is hiring full-time Direct Support Professionals to provide person-centered care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. No experience is required as PAID training is provided, with starting pay of $17.50 per hour.

Shifts run Monday through Friday, 8 am–4 pm. The role includes direct care, transportation to appointments, and documentation responsibilities, with opportunities for career growth within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Employment contingent on background checks and drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Assist with daily routines including cleaning, cooking, feeding, medication administration, and personal hygiene.
• Monitor health and medical needs and report concerns promptly.
• Help individuals develop independent and community-based skills.
• Engage individuals in community, social, and recreational activities.
• Transport individuals to medical appointments and community activities.
• Ensure program documentation and billable records are accurate and timely.
• Build and maintain relationships with community members, businesses, and families to support individuals.
• Cooperate with licensing and department staff during inspections or inquiries.
