Job summary

State of South Carolina, via the Department of Social Services, is seeking a CWS Case Manager to perform time-limited interventions, conduct case planning, and ensure safety and well-being for families in York County. The role requires engagement with families, statutory documentation, and coordination with legal processes.

You will manage caseloads, maintain FAST records, participate in family team meetings, and uphold quality documentation.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Behavioral Science, or Social Science.
• Experience in case management and collaboration with legal/administrative processes preferred.
• On-call and emergency response duties may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform case management in the Child Welfare area to ensure safety, permanency and well-being.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of safety concerns and coordinate services.
• Update FAST and develop Family Permanency Plans with timely referrals.
• Engage families and partners with empathy; participate in family team meetings.
• Maintain accurate case records and CAPSS documentation per policy.
• Collaborate with legal when safety concerns exist or court action is needed.
• Maintain active child welfare certification and complete required training annually.
• Protect PII and safeguard agency networks and data.
• Assist with Red Cross shelter duty or other emergency duties as directed.
• Perform additional duties as required.
