Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) is seeking a qualified professional to oversee and maintain an effective alcohol and other drug abuse program at the Bay Correctional Facility in Panama City, FL. The role emphasizes awareness, prevention, staff training and coordination with community resources in line with ACA standards and FDOC directives.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and experience in substance abuse treatment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, criminology or related field.
• Two years of substance abuse treatment experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a system to promote coordination of substance abuse prevention with other facility programs.
• Document inmates' assessments and treatment plans in medical records.
• Provide ongoing comprehensive staff training in the substance abuse area.
• Develop and provide substance abuse materials in health education programs and standing orders.
• Conduct substance abuse and cognitive behavioral classes and related sessions for inmates and staff.
• Encourage awareness of substance abuse issues throughout the facility.
• Develop linkages with community resources for substance abuse services.
• Promote positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when needed.
• Maintain accountability of inmates and property; adhere to safety practices.
