Job summary

State of Oklahoma is seeking a Correctional Case Manager at Great Plains Correctional Center to perform routine social casework in offender classification and re-entry planning. The role focuses on assessing security risks, determining program needs, and coordinating services for successful community integration upon release.

The level-specific duties include counseling offenders, preparing case histories, and collaborating with partners to provide post-release resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; substitution may apply per Level I/II/III rules.
• Experience in correctional social casework or records management preferred.
• Ability to interview and counsel offenders, assess risks and needs.

Responsibilities

• Uses interview techniques and assessment instruments to determine security risks and programmatic needs; prepares case history reports and recommends program assignments.
• Reviews work and conduct records of all assigned offenders to determine progress or need for changes in assignments or security classification; serves as a member of the classification unit for an assigned caseload.
• Advises offenders on personal problems, employment resources, vocational skills, educational and training needs, family problems and institutional adjustment.
• Delivers programs to offenders designed to assist in a successful re-entry into the community after incarceration.
• Assists with, or prepares reports such as parole summaries or court ordered presentence investigations.
• Receives and handles mail for offenders.
• Develops, monitors, and amends offender transition plans in line with re-entry programs and services.
• Establishes collaborative network with partners to provide pre and post-release support for offenders.
